My Interrail Experience | Introduction

For the past weeks I've completely neglected my blog, but there's a good reason for that: I've been interrailing through Europe! Just over three weeks ago me and a good friend packed our backpacks and got on our first train headed towards Prague. The following two weeks we stopped in 5 other countries, visiting a total of 6: Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, and Germany.
Our trail looked like this, stopping in: Prague, Bratislava, Siófok, Zagreb, Sibenik, Ljubljana, and Nürnberg.
We had made reservations for two nights at a hostel in Prague, but the following 12 days we mostly just showed up at hostels and asked whether they had two beds for us - which they sometimes didn't, but somehow it always worked out either way. Pretty lucky, because usually when we turned up, we would have walked around for an hour not being able to find anywhere to sleep, because we kind of suck at navigating around a new city apparently. I have to admit that at these times the mood wasn't the greatest, but I'm pretty sure you have to count in a few mood swings on a 15 days trip?
From home we'd decided that we didn't want to spend too much money (we're both students after all), so we didn't engulf in expensive gourmet food and always went for the cheapest sleeping possibility (besides the free option of sleeping in the streets or parks). But I have to say that I absolutely enjoyed sleeping in dorms of 6 to 10 beds, since you get to meet so many (different kinds of) people!
More on our trip soon!

Have you ever interrailed yourself? :-)
